Our 123 Plan for Overseas Native-Speaking English Teachers Interested in Teaching in Hong Kong
Step 1: Application and Interview Process
1. Submit Your Application: Please send your CV to recruit@headstartgroup.co, detailing your qualifications, teaching experience and interest in teaching in Hong Kong.
2. Application Assessment: Upon satisfactory review of your application, you will be invited for a virtual interview.
3. Acceptance and Recommendation: If selected, we will highly recommend you to participate in Step 2.
Step 2: Visit and Experience Hong Kong
Expected to happen in April
1. Arrange Your Trip: Plan and book your trip to Hong Kong for say 5 days as a tourist at your own expense. We will take you under our wing and help you explore the city.
2. Guided Tour: Our team will organise a comprehensive tour for you, showcasing the school facilities, local communities, cultural experiences and the teaching environment in Hong Kong.
3. Reflection and Decision: After your trip, take time to reflect on your experience and decide if teaching in Hong Kong aligns with your career goals. We encourage you to consider the opportunities and challenges thoroughly so you can make the right decision.
Step 3: Placement and Professional Development
Expected to happen in June
1. Accepting the Opportunity: If you decide to take the opportunity and pursue teaching in Hong Kong, we will send you a link to compile your Teacher Profile. Once the Profile is finalised, we will work on your placement. Physical interview will be expected.
2. Gathering Documents: You will send us the required documents for visa application. Concurrently, online training and orientation will be provided.
3. Arrival and Orientation: You will arrive in good time (i.e. early August) to settle down and be ready for the start of your teaching career.
